New Places, New Adventures

Here are our new adventures. Beware: Picture Overload

Ian started Kindergarten. He loves it.

Lucia's first try at cereal. She has now progressed to more foods and is quite the eater.

Lucia's Blessing

Up at the cabin with Woods and Gunnells. We've become the country folk.

Colton and Ian taking swim lessons. They were great swimmers by the end. They would even dive off of the board.

Ian lost his first tooth. More like extracted himself, root and all. Funny thing is that the same week he lost this tooth it came in as Lucia's first tooth.

Our yearly visit to the beach in California. Some of the cousins.

We walked Hollywood and we happened to be there for the Jackass 3D premier. Here is Lucia with Steve-O. We saw Johnny Knoxville but no pic. He didn't come over to greet the fans.

Ian learned to ride a 2 wheeler while in Cali.

At Schnepf Farms.

Enjoying a day at the park in October.

Last Days

Ian graduated preschool. We loved hearing all the songs, and watching the skits they had been working on. He had an awesome preschool with great teachers. He made lots of great little friends, one of which he's already been pen paling with. We are so proud of him for all the development he showed throughout the year, and adored watching his little personality shine through.

Last day of school. Ms. Lori, Ms. Marie, and Ms. Christine

Taylor and his presidency. I know he will miss these guys. Taylor speaks about Marty with the utmost respect. I miss our ward and feeling like we were getting together with our family on Sunday. I will miss hearing the broken English yet strong testimonies.

Good little buddies.

Our playgroup. These ladies and these kids were my sanity when Taylor had overnight call or long days. They were my constant. They were the ones I called when I needed some relief. Like when Ian injured his soft palate and needed emergency surgery. How terrifying would it be to watch your friend's 6 month old nursing child through the night? Yet one mom did. Or when I needed to spend the day at the temple to finish my dad's work and needed child care for 7 hours. One mom did that. Or after running a brutal marathon and couldn't get out of bed the next day and needed someone to pick up my kids. One mom came. Or needed early co-op drop off because I was orchestrating a blind date (gone bad). One mom didn't mind. Or having someone watch my kids for OB appointments. One was always my go-to girl. I needed these people and they were always there for me.

I love these girls. I can't say enough, so I won't say anything cause I might cry.

My last night there we went with our good friends to Bar Americain. My last item on my NY bucket list. We lived it up. We ate like kings. Ordering appetizers and lobster and steak, and not water. I walked Times Square one last time. Indulged in a good New York City dessert one last time. Saw the city backdrop as we drove off one last time. It was a good last night, with a yummy dinner, and the best company. Laughing, reminiscing, and planning future get togethers.

My sweet neighbor Louise. We loved our neighbors. I got many delicious, authentic meals from her home, and also my other neighbor Deborah. Colton managed to squeeze a cookie out of her every time he saw her.

Our little apartment. I really do miss it. I miss plugging the vacuum in one outlet and managing to do the whole place. And getting my workout doing loads of laundry in the basement. And building muscle carrying my Costco items up the stairs. And only cleaning one toilet.

I will always look back on New York as our best years.
